Prosti trening je uspel // Free practice day was a success

(see below for English translation )

Hvala Tilo!

Today’s weather conditions allowed for beautiful flights both towards the West and to the East. The cloud base in the Karawanks region was above 2000m QNH, while around Lienz and further towards the West, it was approximately 1000m higher. In the vicinity of the airfield, some showers developed in the afternoon, significantly deteriorating the thermal conditions. Nevertheless, pilots coming from the West had no trouble reaching our airfield, where they all safely landed. Most pilots flew in Slovenia for the first time and after landing, they were amazed by the landscape, stunning views, and conditions they experienced today. After landing, a briefing followed in which Boštjan Pristavec, the race director, informed the competitors on key safety aspects of flying at our airfield. Tomorrow, the official training takes place, so things are getting more serious. We will provide regular updates throughout the competition so that you won’t miss any important information. We’ll be delighted if you give us a visit and witness firsthand the state-of-the-art gliders and their pilots in action. We are also sharing the first photo gallery, with photos contributed by our member Luka Hojnik and the German competitor Tilo Holighaus, flying the Ventus 3 glider with competition number 3V.
